About Signal Cove Owners, Inc.

Signal Cove Owners, Inc. is a non-profit organization that comprises the Signal Cove neighborhood, the Signal Cove Event Center, and our member-supported private boat ramp. The community was founded on February 1st, 1966 touting "high and dry waterfront lots."

Today Signal Cove is a vibrant community of full and part-time residents from all walks of life. We have over 150 members from inside and outside our neighborhood. Membership meetings are held on the first Monday of each month October-May.

The board proposes voting on the following changes to our bylaws at our January 2025 meeting. The changes are outlined in the  PDF document below.

We will take four votes, one for each proposed change group. The groups are marked with different colors in the PDF below.

1) Vote on yellow: These updates were made due to the document's age. They don’t affect financials or the relationship between the board and the members.
Changes:

  - Fix spelling errors and missing words

  - Remove the section on Guests (no longer applies)

  - Replace the Road and Waterways fund with Property Fund

  - Electronic filing, bookkeeping, payments, and announcements

  - Flexibility for the board to set meeting times other than 7 pm if desired

2) Vote on Teal: change the quorum from 20 to 27, but include the Board of Directors, which reduces the number of non-board members required to 14 if the full board (13 people) shows up.

3) Vote on Red: limit recording and distribution of audio/video

4) Vote on Green: bump the limit of unbudgeted expenditures from $500 to $1000 to account for inflation
